The popular maxim by Albert Einstein, a German-born theoretical physicist that states “the world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, by those who watch them without doing anything”, thrusted me to get this piece of article written, perchance, it will amount to the alleviation of “sex for money” business which is not uncommon in this country. It will be unpleasant to its extremity if this essayist could keep mum on this matter.

Morally and religiously debased ladies exchange their bodies for money; they trade their dignity for token, you will see them at hotels, barrooms among other social gatherings, dressing half-naked to entice asinine guys; they will be parading and looking like a bush fowl in search of whom to call them for business – sex for money. It didn’t just start, prostitution had been in existence since donkey years back.

Some days ago, I was cogitating on the rampancy of unscrupulous, ludicrous and unreligious job “prostitution” engaged upon by young ladies in this epoch, it threw me off-balance mentally. What is sanely viewed as “immorality” has spuriously become what is ‘moral’; the parts of the body that ought to be considered private become public display and consumption. They possess the attitude of a dog that has no sexual timidity, so to say.

The parents have strenuous responsibility to contribute to halt the odoriferous business called “Sex for Money” perpetrated by young ladies. Charity, they said, begins at home. A child that lacks proper home-training will, indubitably, end up committing unscrupulous attitudes in the community. A responsible mother should feed her children, especially ladies, with moral and religious lessons; it is better they are tutored morally and religiously at infant stage. This is in deference to an apothegm that states that, Iroko tree can only be cut at the ‘childhood stage’, when it fully develops or reach its adulthood, cutting it will require a laborious effort which may even be rendered effortless. Saying parents who fail to educate her children (ladies) are contributors to the aggravation of the foul-smelling business is to deny the obvious.

On the other side, those whores should be draconianly castigated as well. It is believed that larger percentage of them ventured in the immoral act in discourse because of their poor conditions of living which shouldn’t be so, because decapitation, they said, is not the panacea to headache. Engaging in prostitution may provide for urgent needs but it is capable of obliterating their probity to an irreparable manner.

One of the perils that is attached to whoredom is, it can swiftly lead to infection of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) like Gonorrhea, Human Immune-Deficiency Virus (HIV) to mention but a few. The victim of such disease(s), without ounce of any reasonable doubt, will shed a disgraceful and regretful cry. Albeit, countless number of people are infected with HIV without engaging themselves in prostitution.

Many guys are desperately thirsty for acquisition of sudden opulence, with that, they engage in money ritual which I believe its repercussion is inevitable. Sadly, avalanche of prostitutes, which are regarded in the street lingo as “Olosho or Ashewo”, had fallen prey of being used as a material for money ritual.

Parents should relentlessly monitor the caliber of the friends their children keep. It is not unbeknownst to us that pressure group influences the most. Government also has prominent roles to play in the scene of curbing the immoral business by not taking the matter with levity; they should take legal action on them. They can be penalized as glaringly highlighted in the Nigeria’s 1999 constitution of Section 223, 224, 225 this will make young ladies to desist from the bad stuff and it will barricade the opportunity of influencing the generation to come.

Also, it is now pertinent for the religious leaders e.g. pastors, evangelists, alfas, imams to start or continue to preach against prostitution. It is high time those committers of prostitution thought more than twice and desisted from such act of immorality and should be contented with their possessions. Health-wisely, morally, religiously prostitution is unsavoury and doggish, ladies should distance themselves from it.
