Matt Araiza Told Alleged Victim To Get Tested For STDs During A Police-Moni...

More details are beginning to emerge of the troubling lawsuit that was filed against Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza and they make an already terrible situation even more disturbing.

According to court filings, Araiza told his 17-year-old rape accuser in a police-monitored phone call that she needed to be tested for chlamydia after an alleged hour-and-a-half-long attack that left her “bloody and crying.”

As I mentioned in a previous tweet, some of the allegations against #punter Matt Araiza and two other players are disturbing. Among them, that he admitted to having an STD during call w/ alleged victim (& detectives observing). Be forewarned, these are graphic. @news4buffalo pic.twitter.com/6nGsFk3KGR

Araiza and two of his former San Diego State teammates were accused in a civil lawsuit Thursday of gang raping the teenager at an off-campus party last fall, while the star punter still played for the Aztecs. The lawsuit, filed in San Diego County Superior Court, accuses Araiza, Zavier Leonard and Nowlin ‘Pa’a’ Ewaliko of gang raping a then-17-year-old girl at a Halloween party at a home where Araiza had been living.

There is a criminal investigation into the allegations, according to the Los Angeles Times, which first reported the lawsuit. No arrests have been made and San Diego Police have not publicly identified any suspects.

Araiza’s attorney told the Los Angeles Times that the accusations are ‘untrue,’ while lawyers representing Leonard and Ewaliko declined to comment. Araiza would not be subject to the NFL personal conduct policy over the alleged rape because it took place in 2021, before he was a league player.
