Tatiana Bukhtoyarova was arrested after testing positive for HIV while working in a brothel located at Acharnon and Fokaias 22B streets in Athens, Greece in 2012. According to Athens Police and the Greek Center for Disease Control and Prevention, she was born on September 9, 1990 in Russia and was living in Galatsi, Greece at the time she was arrested for prostitution and intentionally putting people at risk of serious harm.
The Greek authorities did the right thing by releasing her information to the media immediately so that anyone she put at risk could get tested. That led to over 600 men getting tested. Despite being an obvious threat to the purity and essence of hundreds of peoples bodily fluids, HIV groups blasted the Athens Police, Greek CDC, and news media for publishing her personal information.
