Jamshedpur, Dec 22: Commemorating the 136th Birth Anniversary of great mathematician Srinivasa Aiyangar Ramanujan, SDSM School for Excellence observed Mathematics Day on Thursday, December 22.
The celebratory programmes lined up for the occasion were planned to create interest among the students and drive out the fear of mathematics. The event was inaugurated by school Principal, Moushumi Das. Vice Principal, Ragini Singh, Coordinators and the Faculty of Mathematics joined Moushumi Das in paying homage to Srinivasa Ramanujan. A Special Assembly was organized that featured action songs, speeches and skits presented by the students of Stds I to III.
Ganit Quiz was organized for the students of Std. 9 to 12. A film on the life of Srinivasa Ramanujan was screened in different classes.
The event was well organized under the guidance of Maths Coordinator, Aparna Roy, who organized activities to reduce the fear of learning mathematics and learn innovative measures to keep the interest alive.
