Nagpur: Three city schools affiliated to Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) on Sunday achieved cent per cent result in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) exam of Std X held in the pen and paper mode after a two-year pandemic break.
The exam was held in two semesters for the first time in the council’s history. Students appearing in both the semesters followed by internal assessment only were declared successful. The first semester was held last year in winter.
Rashida Aliasgar Saifee, a student of MSB Educational Institute at Wardhaman Nagar, is the probable city topper with 98.20%. The all India third rank closed at 99.40 with a total 110 students from across the country making it to the top three spots.
The second and third ranks in the city too were taken by MSB students. Second position has been secured by Mubaraka Moiz Mehtawala with 97.80%. The third position is shared by Aziz Moiz Sunelwala and Taher Nuruddin Kiranawala by scoring 97.40%.
Principal Raziya Husain said, “Like all the previous years, MSB Educational Institute has maintained the status of 100% result in ICSE 2022 exams. All the students scored first division with overall class average of 91%. Total 31 students have scored 90% and above marks, 15 students scored 80% and above marks. Certain students have scored full marks in various subjects,” she said.
Saifee scored 100/100 in History and Civics and Arts. Kiranawala and Husaina Mustansir Ali Husain scored 100/100 in History & Civics and Biology. Husain Mohammad Lodhger scored 100/100 in History & Civics. Mubaraka Moiz Mehtawala, Mohammad Mustafa Hussain and Aziz Moiz Sunelwala has scored 100/100 in Biology.
Seventh-Day Adventist Higher Secondary School on Mount Road said they achieved 100% results. Its topper is Jatin Patil with 95.6%.
Chanda Devi Sarafa’s topper Anish Hota secured 97%. A total 21 of their students clocked 90 and more percentage.
No updates were available for Kamptee’s Marie Posseupin School which too is CISCE affiliated.
Overall, girls did better than boys with a pass percentage of 99.98% across the country. Boys achieved a pass percentage of 99.97%. Over 2.3 lakh students appeared for the exam. The ICSE exam was held in 61 written subjects of which 20 are Indian languages, nine foreign languages and one classical language.
